We are seeking a Deputy Chief Nurse with credible clinical leadership and authentic engagement skills who is passionate about supporting us to continue our improvement journey.
GMMH is changing, we have evolved over the past 18 months as we delivered our fundamental requirements during special measures, we are now in the next steps of this work; embedding those changes to ensure that we continue to deliver but also setting new ambitions, to be part of the left shift and delivering care in our communities as well as preparing our workforce for digital innovations to become more efficient and effective in the way we work.
The Deputy Chief Nurse role is critical to supporting the Chief Nurse and the broader professions and quality workforce. If you have high energy, significant clinical curiosity, an absolute passion for delivering for our service users and their communities, an ability to hear hard truths and work through difficult situations to seek the improvement actions to drive change, then this is the role for you. You will be a visible leader who can turn around work promptly in accordance with deadlines, you will be able to work with minimal supervision and provide support to your teams and the broader professional group. A team player you will engage with peer professional and corporate deputies to ensure a joined up approach to delivering GMMH strategies and priorities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on a range of business sensitive issues.
* Role model appropriate leadership behaviours across the trust
* Lead as the expert in Professional Practice and Quality Assurance; integrating systems and managing effective working relationships with the appropriate stakeholders.
* Work closely with the Chief Nurse to support all nurses with their continual personal and professional development and the delivery of the Nursing Plan.
* Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, including presenting information about projects and dependencies to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in formal settings.
* Manage potentially aggressive and/or antagonistic situations with staff and stakeholders within change programmes for successful outcomes.
* Deal with complex and conflicting subject matter problems or in day to day work load in workshops, meetings, one on one communications and other events, comprising various parts of the business.
* Effective stakeholder management across different departments and at all levels, maintaining relationships with key and high profile stakeholders, such as key strategic regional and national policy makers.
* Deputise for the DIPC when required
