Fixed Term/Secondment to 31 March 2026
Role: Dispatcher, Band 3
Hours: Various, Part Time
Salary: £28,011 - £30,230 per annum pro rata
Location coverage: Dundee, Perth & Kinross, and Angus
Band 3 duties involve working with the Out of Hours Team, other health professionals and Agencies to manage urgent patient cases and deploy OOH vehicles and clinicians in real time.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Out of Hours Team, other health professionals and Agencies to coordinate urgent patient care.
* Manage urgent cases referred by professional stakeholders (e.g., care homes, district nurses, ambulance services, NHS24).
* Coordinate safe and effective deployment of OOH vehicles and clinicians across Dundee, Perth & Kinross, and Angus.
* Prioritise urgent cases appropriately and dispatch vehicles to the most suitable clinician in a timely and safe manner.
* Contribute to delivering high-quality care during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
* Work using own initiative and under pressure to preserve service cover and patient safety; maintain clear oral and written communication skills; have knowledge of the geography of Tayside.
* Comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland during employment.
