Overview
The Position: Environmental & Sustainability Manager
The Opportunity: At Roche Diagnostics, you’ll lead the charge in shaping our environmental and sustainability agenda across the UK and Ireland. You’ll embed our global ESG commitments into everyday operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and inspire cultural change. This role focuses on reducing carbon emissions, driving sustainable product and process innovation, and supporting our net-zero goals.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and deliver sustainability strategies that align with Roche’s global standards, ISO 14001, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
* Ensure compliance with environmental laws and reporting frameworks (ISO 14001, CDP, GRI, REACH, WEEE)
* Lead initiatives to measure, analyse, and reduce carbon emissions, energy, water, waste, and resource use
* Partner with teams, suppliers, and industry networks to drive sustainable practices and share expertise
* Design and deliver training to build awareness and capability across the organisation
* Support sustainable product and process innovation, from procurement choices to circular economy initiatives
* Establish and track KPIs, ensuring transparent reporting and continuous improvement
What You Bring
* A degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
* 5+ years’ experience in environmental management or sustainability (healthcare, pharma, or diagnostics desirable)
* Strong knowledge of UK, Ireland, and international environmental regulations and reporting frameworks
* Proven ability to manage projects, engage stakeholders, and influence at all levels
* Analytical skills to translate complex data into actionable insights
* A collaborative mindset, adaptability, and passion for sustainability
