A CNC Setter is required, for a well established precision manufacturing business based in Dudley.
The company are long established within the black country for over 40 years, specializing the manufacture of precision components for a range of industry sectors. They pride themselves on manufacturing high-quality components using the latest technology and a machine shop boasting a range of CNC machinery and CAM software. They’ve got a very low turnover of staff, coupled with long-standing relationships with blue-chip companies globally.
Benefits include an hourly rate of £15.00 p/h, paid overtime
Its 38 hrs per week 7am till 5pm Monday to Thursday, Fridays flexi paid at OT time and a half
Responsibilities of the CNC Setter include -
* Programming of vertical turning lathes to machine precision, low volume components
* Writing new programmes as well as editing / modifying existing programmes as necessary
* Full machine setup and prove out including tooling, speeds, feeds and materials
* Manage updates and new components introduced
* First off part inspection using measuring equipment, before issuing to QC for final pass off
* Multiple setups during the day based on low volume of part manufacture
* Apply a continuous improvement approach to programmes to reduce scrap, waste, cycle time and tool life
To be successful as a CNC Setter, we’re looking for the following skills and experience -
- Ability to write brand new programme using FANUC, or offline CAM software
- Strong knowledge of CNC turning, either horizontal or vertical
- Confident with high-frequency setups for 1 off and small batch manufacture
- Understand and interpret 2D & 3D drawings
- Flexibility towards overtime when required
