We are looking for an experienced buyer, preferably with a manufacturing background. The successful candidate will excel in both strategic and functional aspects of this key role. They will be responsible for managing some of our key purchasing commodities, helping to develop and implement overall strategies for these areas.
General Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with the supply chain manager to maintain proper inventory levels of regularly used materials.
2. Participate in the filling of purchase orders.
3. Organize purchasing requisitions.
4. Develop and implement efficient monitoring systems.
5. Enter data into databases or computerized systems to update supplier and vendor information, track purchases, and generate reports.
Experience / Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks.
3. Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation).
4. Excellent organization, planning, and time management skills.
5. High ethical standards and integrity.
6. Self-accountability for achieving goals.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
8. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
Specific Responsibilities
1. Lead formulation and implementation of strategies for assigned commodities.
2. Continuously improve purchasing procedures aligned with company growth.
3. Manage supplier relationships including contracting, auditing, and development.
4. Negotiate prices and quality with suppliers.
5. Develop strong partnerships with suppliers.
6. Coordinate with relevant departments.
7. Manage material costing and related aspects for customer programs.
8. Ensure timely supply of materials in collaboration with the materials control department.
9. Represent the company at supplier meetings and trade fairs.
10. Contribute to team and departmental strategies.
11. Stay updated on industry innovations and developments.
12. Ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.
13. Participate in team activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Meet performance and KPI targets.
15. Communicate effectively within the team and across the organization.
16. Engage in training opportunities.
Criteria
1. Minimum of 2+ years buying experience, preferably in manufacturing.
2. Experience in the injection molding industry is preferred.
