A welcoming and supportive specialist SEMH and SEN school in Farnborough is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work pupils with Sever Learning Diffculties and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide meaningful, individual support that helps a young person build confidence, develop emotional resilience, and engage positively with learning.
The school offers a nurturing and structured environment with small class sizes of around six pupils, strong Learning Support Assistant provision, and a collaborative team committed to delivering personalised support for every child.
The provision operates across two nearby buildings and supports pupils aged 4–16 with a range of SEMH and SEN needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Encourage engagement with learning and support emotional regulation
* Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support strategies
* Help create a calm, consistent, and positive classroom environment
* Build a trusted and encouraging relationship with the pupil
We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have:
* Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
* A calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong relationship-building and behaviour support skills
* Experience working in schools or specialist settings (desirable)
A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain one.
