Job description
Prospero Teaching are working in partnership with an established alternative provision near Farnborough, supporting young people aged 7-16 with Autism and associated complex needs. Due to the nature of the setting, we are seeking only highly experienced SEN Teaching Assistants with a proven background in specialist or alternative provision environments.
This role is not suitable for newly qualified or entry‑level TAs.
Essential Experience & Skills
1. Substantial, hands-on experience supporting children or young people with Autism and complex additional needs
2. Previous experience in alternative provision, SEN schools, PRUs, or specialist settings
3. A strong track record of managing challenging behaviour using calm, consistent, and trauma‑informed approaches
4. The ability to work confidently with students who require high levels of patience, structure, and emotional regulation support
5. Excellent teamwork skills and the confidence to work independently when required
6. A reflective and resilient mindset, with a clear understanding of progress measured in small but meaningful steps

10. Contract Type: Long-term supply or term‑to‑perm
11. Duration: Ongoing
12. Hours: Full time
13. Pay: From £ per hour (dependent on experience)
Eligibility Requirements
14. GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
15. Extensive SEN experience is essential – applications without this will not be considered
16. Calm, professional, and highly consistent approach
17. Proactive, reliable, and emotionally intelligent
18. Able to build firm but positive relationships quickly
