As an FSQ Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the site’s food safety and quality systems. You’ll work closely with the FSQ Manager to ensure regulatory compliance, uphold customer standards, and maintain robust traceability and documentation across the site. General FSQ Duties Liaising with other departments in the company to ensure efficient operations are conducted in compliance with all relevant domestic and EU legislation. Developing and enhancing company policies, systems and procedures (in conjunction with the FSQ Manager) to meet requirements of customers, the BRC standard, company objectives and industry best practice. Monitoring and initiating corrective action of all anomalies/exceptions on an on-going basis and reporting to the Site FSQ Manger. Adopting a proactive team approach. Reducing departmental/site costs where possible without compromise to product quality, safety or legality. Specific FSQ Duties Assist in maintaining and testing the site’s traceability systems to ensure full product accountability Conduct routine checks and validations to verify traceability integrity Perform gap analyses against BRCGS and customer-specific standards Support implementation of corrective actions to ensure ongoing compliance Participate in internal audits and prepare for external inspections Help maintain and update the site’s Food Safety Manual and associated procedures and ensure documentation reflects current practices and meets audit requirements Logging and trending of department KPI’s. Developing site Food Safety Culture material with the aim of maximising staff engagement. Liaising with customers in response to complaints or supplier approval questionnaires. Health and Safety Duties Maintaining Health & Safety and hygiene standards in accordance with Company rules and regulations. Ensuring that all staff and visitors in the department wear appropriate PPE at all times. Other Duties CARRYING OUT OTHER ASSOCIATED DUTIES UPON REQUEST FROM THE FSQ MANAGER. Have a science-based degree or equivalent relevant training and experience. Have relevant experience in a similar role. Have excellent interpersonal, organisational, time management and attention to detail skills. Have the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
