Sales Team Member – Volunteer
Mearns FM is the only dedicated radio station for South Aberdeenshire, reaching listeners through DAB, FM on 105.1, 105.7, 106.2 & 107.3, online streaming, and the Radioplayer app. The station is committed to serving the local community, providing diverse programming and engaging content for listeners across multiple platforms. As a volunteer-led organisation, Mearns FM values enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about serving the community.
This is a volunteer, part‑time role as a Sales Team Member working remotely within our broadcast area. Responsibilities include identifying potential business clients, building and maintaining client relationships, presenting advertising opportunities, and closing sponsorship and ad sales deals. Additionally, you will collaborate with the team to develop promotional strategies and support station growth.
Qualifications
* Interpersonal skills, communication, and customer service skills to effectively build relationships and engage with potential clients.
* Sales skills, including the ability to identify opportunities, pitch advertising solutions, and negotiate deals successfully.
* Understanding of the local community and its needs, as well as an ability to contribute as part of a dynamic volunteer team.
* Self‑motivation, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and remotely when required.
* Prior experience in sales or customer service roles is an advantage but not a requirement. A passion for community radio and local engagement is highly beneficial.
