We are currently looking for a Full Care Assistant working 37.5 hours a week to join our team at Westerley, a reputable residential care home for the elderly. Responsibilities:
* Provide personal care and support to elderly residents, assisting with daily activities such as dressing, bathing, and grooming.
* Monitor and maintain the physical and emotional well-being of residents, including their nutrition and hydration needs.
* Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and repositioning, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Support residents with medication administration as per the care plan and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Foster a friendly and supportive environment, engaging in conversation and activities with residents to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and company policies.
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a care role, preferably in a residential care home or similar environment preferred but not essential as full training provided
* Empathy and a genuine interest in working with the elderly, providing person-centred care.
* Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with residents, their families, and colleagues.
* A compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A reliable and trustworthy individual who can maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
