Offer description

The newly integrated Community Vaccination Service is seeking an experienced Nurse to join our team. The role involves delivering the school-age vaccination programme alongside COVID vaccinations for housebound patients and care homes.

Vaccinations are the safest and most effective way to protect individuals and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases. Working for the Community Vaccination Service allows you to be part of a team supporting and promoting the importance of vaccines, with a passion for protecting this age group and providing support to the Integrated Vaccination Service across the Trust.

The CVS team is part of the Integrated Vaccination Service and provides all school-age children in Dorset with immunisations according to the UK Health Security Agency schedule. Additionally, the service administers COVID vaccines to housebound and care home residents of Dorset. You will support the management of a team of nurses and administrators, ensuring clinics and sessions are staffed appropriately and safely. The role is based across Dorset, primarily at the Linden Unit in Weymouth.

This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week, term-time only. The post holder must work flexibly to meet the service needs.

* Administer vaccines in schools, community clinics, care homes, and patient homes.
* Collect vaccines and equipment from vaccine bases.
* Triaging of consent forms.
* Providing expert knowledge to service users.
* Community engagement.

Employment requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribing to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
