Burns Network Manager, Band 8b

Permanent: 37.5 hours per week
The Network Manager will cover all Burns services across the directorate and provide managerial leadership and support within the network as well as strategic direction and operational management for the network.
As the Network Manager for the London and South East Burns Network, the post holder will work with the Network Clinical Lead and network lead clinical professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary leadership team to lead the strategic and operational development of coherent and effective network arrangements, and delivery of a programme of work that addresses national and local priorities.
Manages and co-ordinates the work of the network, supporting the development of all Burns services throughout the network.
Main duties of the job

* Work with the network board and the network's commissioners to develop and agree the network's work programme.
* Work closely with the relevant commissioners ensuring the development and delivery of an annual plan with clear objectives and milestones. The post-holder provides regular reports to the network board and to commissioners.

Managing the annual work programme
The Network Manager for London and South East Burns Network will:
* Work with the network board and the networks commissioners to develop and agree the networks work programme.
* Work closely with the relevant commissioners ensuring the development and delivery of an annual plan with clear objectives and milestones. The post-holder provides regular reports to the network board and to commissioners.
* Apply project and programme management disciplines to assure the delivery of the annual work programme.
* Adhere to the NHS Managers Code of Conduct and any other relevant professional codes of conduct at all times.
Financial and Physical Resources
The Network Manager for London and South East Burns Network will:
* Act as the network budget-holder and manages the networks budget.
* Be responsible for matching the available budget to the appropriate staff resources and projects, co-ordinating and monitoring expenditure.
* Be responsible for supporting the commissioning of projects and procurement of services to support project delivery, acting in accordance with the host organisations Standing Orders and Standing Financial Instruction.
* Provide financial reports to commissioners and the host organisation as required.
* Seek to improve value for money and achieve greater efficiency in the use of budgets, and to ensure that they operate in recurrent financial balance year on year
Communications and engagement
The Network Manager for London and South East Burns Network will:
* Develop a network communications strategy. As part of this, the post-holder prepares reports of the networks work and achievements suitable for different audiences including network member organisations, regional commissioners and service users.
* Ensure that the patients voice is identified through any service developments or standards related to delivery of network objectives.
* Act as a champion for patients and their interests and involve the public and patients in the policy development and decision-making in the network.
* Ensure all public and patient contact with the network is of the highest professional standard.
* Represent the network with external stakeholders.
* Communicate highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. (verbal, written and numerical)
* Present highly complex information about projects, initiatives and services to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.

* First Degree or equivalent
* Masters degree (or demonstrable evidence of working at master's level
* Evidence of continuing professional development

* Postgraduate leadership/management qualification

* Extensive previous experience of working at a senior level in a commissioner and/or provider organisation in a commissioning or business management or service development
* Experience of budget management/financial management
