Overview Of The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will assess project requirements, design electrical systems across disciplines, agree timescales and specifications with design teams, clients and managers, lead junior staff, and prepare documents, reports and health and safety risk assessments.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
* Manage the delivery of electrical elements of multi‑disciplinary projects across Built Environment, Water, Transport and Advisory sectors.
* Work and liaise with other engineering disciplines as part of project delivery.
* Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
* Carry out design and calculation work using industry software such as Amtech, IES, Relux, Revit and others.
* Provide technical expertise and coach junior team members.
* Develop and monitor project scheduling and reporting programmes.
* Maximise project profitability, track budgets and manage risk communication with clients.
Areas Of Expertise
* Electrical building services design for health care, education, industrial/pharma, water/wastewater, food processing, transportation, data centres.
* Lighting and emergency lighting for commercial and industrial buildings; familiar with Trimble (Amtech), Relux, Dialux.
* External lighting including roads/highways.
* General power and services; fire detection and alarm, CCTV, access control, power and data.
* Medium voltage switchgear and transformers.
* Low voltage distribution and MCCs, including wiring schematics and SLDs.
* Transformers 11kV/6.6kV to 400V, 3‑phase and single‑phase systems.
* BMS (Building Management Systems) and SCADA.
* Instrumentation, control and automation systems.
* BIM, AutoCAD and Revit.
* Site experience is an advantage.
* Services co‑ordination for buildings and underground services.
Candidate Specification
* B.Eng / M.Eng.
* Chartered Engineer.
* Experience leading on electrical services and multi‑disciplinary projects.
* Experience mentoring graduate engineers.
* Enthusiastic and ambitious.
* Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation.
* Ability to lead electrical elements of one large project or a portfolio of smaller projects.
* Experience managing client relationships and expectations; ability to attend client‑facing meetings via Teams.
