Caridon Young Living provides high-quality residential care for children and young people aged 11–18. We are seeking a Deputy Manager to support the effective day-to-day running of our children's home, deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for:
* Leading, supervising, and supporting staff
* Ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding
* Overseeing care plans and direct work with children
* Managing rotas, supervisions, and staff development
* Maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies
The role requires flexibility, including occasional shift work, sleep-ins, weekends, bank holidays and participation in the on-call rota (additional payment provided).
What You'll Do
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
* Support positive outcomes by ensuring care plans are followed and regularly reviewed
* Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment
* Work closely with parents, schools, social workers, and other professionals
* Lead shifts, manage staff handovers, and oversee incidents/records
* Supervise and develop staff, ensuring training and development plans are met
* Maintain health and safety standards within the home
* Uphold equal opportunities, challenging any discriminatory practice
About You
We're looking for a caring, resilient and motivated leader who:
* Has experience in residential childcare or a similar setting
* Can effectively manage staff, rotas, and service delivery
* Is confident in safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted compliance
* Can balance administrative tasks with hands-on child-focused work
* Is flexible and reliable with working hours
Qualifications required:
* Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) (or equivalent)
* Working towards or holding a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People's Services)
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
