Role Description
The Governance Manager role supports the Operations Director of Group Functions Technology (GFT) across several disciplines, including GFT Exco and GFT COO team governance. Group Functions Technology is a large function comprising 5300 employees globally and covering 11 governed portfolios.
The Governance Manager is accountable to the Governance Lead and is responsible for supporting them in the effective running, strategic progression and operational effectiveness of Group Functions Technology. in this role they will also collaborate closely with members of the GFT Leadership Team and GFT COO LT.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting with the overall scheduling and running of the weekly ET Exco Governance forums, and driving actions through to completion and logging of decisions
* Ensure effective meeting management, including preparation of briefing notes, action tracking and forward planning
* Assist with preparing the GFT CIO for key meetings, including with suppliers, customers, and regulators. Oversee administration for external events, off-sites, and travel.
* Assist with the production of materials for Group Opco consumption, via various committees.
* Creation of process flows, stakeholder maps, other adhoc support requests
* Ability to successfully influence key stakeholders across strategic initiatives to deliver outcomes, often delivering through indirect reports
* Supports on adhoc tasks, typically but not limited to, delivering key outcomes for GFT CIO, supporting on distressed projects, NDA programmes and highly visible risk items.
Essential Skillset/Experience:
* Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with proven experience working in a matrix management structure and building and maintaining global team relationships
* Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a complex, global organisation, including holding relevant Opco membership and active participation
* Excellent influencer and stakeholder management skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority
* Proven ability to prioritise competing demands
* Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to distil complex and varied data into information that can be utilised to manage and measure performance
* Delivery-focused with ability to pay attention to detail and ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality
