Job role
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our friendly team. You will play a key role in providing high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years, supporting their learning, development and wellbeing in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
Main duties
1. Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
2. Support children's learning and development through play and purposeful interactions
3. Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
4. Observe, assess and record children's progress
5. Maintain a safe, clean and inclusive environment
6. Support children's personal care routines as required
7. Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies at all times
8. Contribute to planning, assessments and team meetings
9. Act as a key person for a group of children
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
11. Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
12. Good understanding of child development and the EYFS
13. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
14. Organised, reliable and professional approach to work
15. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable skills
16. Experience supporting children with additional needs
17. Experience of using observation and assessment systems
18. Full and relevant early years qualification (or above) recognised by the Department for Education – or if not qualified, get in touch about joining us to complete an apprenticeship.
