Senior Applied Clinical / Forensic / Counselling Psychologist – Urgent Care
Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) – Pan Trust (Sandwell, Walsall and Dudley)

Role Summary
You will join fast‑paced multidisciplinary teams to provide psychological assessment, formulation, care planning and brief interventions to service users presenting with acute and urgent mental health needs. The role supports the Principal Psychologist for CRHTT and the Consultant Psychologist for Urgent Care in delivering psychology within the CRHTT.
Main duties of the job
• Conduct psychological assessments, formulation and care planning for clients at high risk.
• Deliver short‑term interventions to support early discharge and prevent hospital admission.
• Facilitate regular reflective practice groups and supervision for MDT colleagues.
• Work flexibly and creatively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Provide psychological input across pan‑trust acute settings, including in‑patients, mental health liaison services and PICU.
Person Specification
* Post‑graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology (or equivalent) accredited by the BPS.
* Post‑doctoral training in one or more specialised areas of psychological practice.
* HCPC registration as an Applied Psychologist with Chartered Status.
* Training in clinical supervision and supervision of doctoral trainees.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience working as a qualified applied psychologist within a mental health service, across the life course and a range of clinical severity and settings.
* Knowledge of evidence‑based practice relevant to complex mental health difficulties.
* Risk assessment and risk management experience.
* Registration with the BPS.
