One of our long-standing clients, a respected and growing residential groundwork contractor, is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step into a high-impact role, overseeing multiple residential development sites along the M5 corridor—from Birmingham to Bristol.
About the Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Working closely with site teams, clients, and senior leadership, you will be instrumental in driving operational performance across all active sites.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the delivery of residential groundwork packages across multiple sites.
*
Liaise with clients, site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are met.
*
Monitor and report on project progress, resource planning, and financial performance.
*
Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are adhered to across all sites.
*
Conduct regular site visits and inspections, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
*
Support the development and performance of on-site teams.
About You
Essential:
*
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Site Manager in residential groundworks or civil engineering.
*
Strong understanding of groundwork practices and residential development cycles.
*
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel along the M5 corridor.
Desirable:
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White Card), and First Aid at Work.
*
Strong commercial awareness and cost control capability.
