The Role As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and practical science lessons across Key Stages 3-5. Working closely with teaching staff, you will ensure that laboratories are well-prepared, safe, and fully equipped to facilitate high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science lessons and experiments
* Maintain and organise laboratory stock, chemicals, and resources
* Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
* Provide technical support to teaching staff during lessons where required
* Assist with the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
* Support the smooth day-to-day running of the science department
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school setting
* Strong subject knowledge across one or more science disciplines
* A degree in a science-related field is highly desirable
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* A proactive and flexible approach to work
* Strong understanding of health and safety procedures within a laboratory environment
