Job Title: Supplier Performance Specialist
Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP)
Service Area: Commercial & Supply Chain
Hours of Work: 37 per week
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Supplier Performance Specialist at KBS Maritime, you’ll own end‑to‑end procurement processes across a wide range of disciplines, including Hard Facilities Management, Specialist Systems, Compliance, and Waterfront capabilities. You’ll support the implementation of supply‑chain strategies that align with business objectives, help reduce sub‑contract spend, streamline transactional workloads, and deliver best value in line with Public Sector procurement principles.
You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to build strong relationships and ensure optimal service delivery to the Naval Base. Your role will also involve contract management, supplier performance tracking, tender activity, and data‑driven decision‑making to identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement. From placing orders in SAP to supporting strategic procurement actions, you’ll be a key contributor to the success of the Commercial and Supply Chain Function.
Responsibilities
• Support the full spectrum of supply‑chain management activities, from supplier engagement and contract oversight to process mapping and market research.
• Refine specifications, source quotations, and ensure procurement practices align with business needs and public‑sector principles.
• Drive continuous improvement, prioritise tasks under pressure and ensure alignment with internal policies and strategic goals.
• Act as a visible advocate for Supply Chain, raising awareness of best practices and contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
Qualifications and Expectations
• Proactive, problem‑solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex challenges with sound judgment.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills; articulate and versatile communication style.
• Self‑motivated, prioritises tasks and provides support without prompting; excellent time‑management and continuous improvement orientation.
• Ideally holds a CIPS Level 4 qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain.
