Advanced Practitioner - Child & Family Assessment Team (Leeds City Council)

Leeds City Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Child & Family Assessment Team. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a social worker with expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective support plans.
About the Role:
Conduct complex and high-risk assessments of children and families, using a range of assessment tools and methodologies.Develop and implement comprehensive and person-centered care plans, coordinating services and resources to meet the needs of each family.Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on complex cases, promoting best practice and consistent service delivery.Supervise and mentor junior social workers, supporting their professional development and growth.Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making within the team.Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
Registered with Social Care England.Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in child and family assessment is essential; experience in a supervisory or advanced practice role is highly desirable.Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding.Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.Ability to build rapport and trust with children, families, and other professionals.Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
