Salary: £28,000 – £32,000
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Company

This is a well-established UK manufacturer operating within a highly regulated, safety-critical engineering environment. The business designs and delivers technically complex products used nationwide, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term customer partnerships. With continued investment in systems, people, and innovation, this is an excellent opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join a stable and forward-thinking organisation where your contribution genuinely matters.

Job Description

As a Supply Chain Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring materials and components flow efficiently through manufacturing and distribution operations. Reporting into senior operations leadership, the Supply Chain Planner will support procurement, planning, logistics, and inventory control to ensure products are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include coordinating the sourcing and delivery of electronic components, assemblies, and materials aligned to production schedules. You will raise and manage purchase orders, track supplier performance, and proactively expedite critical items to avoid delays. Maintaining accurate ERP data is central to the Supply Chain Planner role, alongside generating reports on shortages, stock levels, and delivery performance.

Inventory control is a core focus, including cycle counting, managing obsolete stock, and ensuring traceability and compliance with quality standards. The Supply Chain Planner will work closely with engineering, warehouse, and logistics teams to manage kitting, despatch, and inbound/outbound transport, including domestic and export shipments.

Cross-functional collaboration is key, with involvement in new product introductions, engineering changes, KPI improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supply chain, procurement, or materials role
• Experience within electronics or engineering manufacturing preferred
• Strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP S/4HANA advantageous)
• Ability to read BOMs and engineering change documentation
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills
• Understanding of logistics, Incoterms, and stock control
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) desirable

Why Should You Apply?

This Supply Chain Planner role offers stability, progression, and exposure to a technically interesting manufacturing environment. You’ll have autonomy, influence, and the opportunity to develop your career within a business that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. If you’re a proactive Supply Chain Planner looking to make a real operational impact, this role is well worth exploring
