About the role
Role Title: Transport Shift Manager RDC
Position: This is a Permanent position
Hours of Work: Full Time, 35 Hours, working 6am to 2pm with occasional weekend working.
Salary: Up to £55,000, annual depending on experience
Location: This is an Onsite role based at Aylesford (Regional Distribution Centre). May require visits to other distribution locations or sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a 24/7 transport operation delivering to branches and customers.
* Ensure compliance with all regulations, including EU driving and working time directives, health and food safety guidelines.
* Oversee vehicle maintenance programs.
* Control departmental resources, including Partners, agency staff, and equipment, to meet KPIs.
* Promote continuous improvement within the department.
* Manage the RDC in the absence of the General Manager and Transport Operations Manager.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Senior management experience in a Transport/Distribution environment with extensive knowledge of Health and Safety and Transport legislation.
* Experience handling disciplinary procedures according to ACA guidelines.
* Experience fostering a culture of Continuous Improvement.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
* Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) with knowledge of EU regulations.
* Strategically minded with change management skills and foresight of potential issues.
* Effective stakeholder management skills.
