We're hiring a Chef to split their week between two kitchens in Braintree:
* Service Kitchen — Fast, high-standard café service: brunches, lunches, clean plates, consistent presentation.
* Production/Prep Kitchen — Our catering company's state-of-the-art kitchen: batch prep, savouries, bakes and mise en place to spec.
You'll switch between live service and calm, organised prep days—ideal for someone who loves variety but keeps standards high.
What you'll do
* Cook and plate brunch/lunch dishes to recipe/spec during service
* Prep savouries and components for catering orders (batching, portioning, labelling)
* Maintain a spotless, safe kitchen (clean-as-you-go, HACCP/temps, FIFO)
* Support stock rotation and basic ordering
* Work smoothly with FOH and the catering team
About you
* Some professional kitchen experience (café, pub or production)
* Strong eye for presentation and consistency at pace
* Organised, tidy and reliable; calm under pressure
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (multi-site role)
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willing to complete—training provided)

* £28,000 per annum
