Are you looking for your next challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to start your career in engineering as an Apprentice Saw Doctor at BSW Timber, Fort William. You will work towards your accredited qualifications, as well as gaining hands-on practical experience all whilst becoming an invaluable member of the team.
About the role:
Guided by key members of our busy maintenance team you’ll develop invaluable skills that are needed:
* For the service and maintenance of the sawmill cutting edges, to specification, quality and schedule.
* Repairing a wide range of sawmill saws.
* Replacing saw blades, sharpening, straightening and tensioning saw blades.
* Follow scheduled tool changes and maintenance schedules.
About you:
We’re looking for a motivated individual with a positive and enthusiastic approach, and eagerness to develop in a fast-paced and growing business. In addition, we’re looking for:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Collaborative team players.
* High level of organisation, attention to detail & problem-solving skills.
* Appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
* Be willing to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the programme.
No experience is necessary as full training is given. Candidates must hold at least 4 Standard Grades/National 5’s or equivalent.
