West Sussex County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Qualified Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment delivering meaningful, evidence-based interventions that improve safety, engagement, and outcomes for children and families.
You will join a service currently rolling out the Family Safeguarding Model, strengthened by:
* Co-located Early Help teams
* Community mental health practitioners
* Domestic abuse specialists
* Substance misuse workers
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake high-quality assessments and direct work with children and families.
* Identify risk effectively and develop robust safeguarding plans.
* Manage a varied caseload with independence and professional judgement.
* Produce well-evidenced reports for case conferences, court, and statutory reviews.
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary safeguarding interventions consistent with the Family Safeguarding Model.
* Maintain accurate case records and uphold professional standards.
* Promote equality, inclusion, and good practice across the service.
