Contract Reporting Lead - Power BI / Dynamics / Azure
6 Months | Hybrid (West Midlands, 1-2 days/month) | up to c£600/day (Outside IR35)
We're seeking a Reporting Lead to spearhead the reporting strategy for a key transformation programme. The role involves replacing legacy customer and property data systems with Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Fabric. This is a hands-on leadership position focused on shaping, delivering, and embedding a future-proof reporting landscape.
About the Role:
* Lead the design and delivery of the reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and future data architecture
* Own and evolve the Enterprise Data Platform to meet new reporting needs
* Develop and manage a pipeline of reporting requirements across the programme
* Collaborate with business teams, executives, and technical leads to integrate reporting into business processes
* Build and communicate a clear reporting roadmap with measurable progress
* Partner with the Head of Data and Reporting to align with BAU and enterprise reporting goals
Must-Have Skills:
* Proven experience leading reporting/BI workstreams in large transformation projects
* Strong stakeholder engagement and roadmap delivery skills
* Deep knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (DAX, data modelling, visual best practices)
* Experience with Microsoft Fabric (early-stage or implementation exposure preferred)
* Familiarity with Dynamics 365, especially Customer Engagement (iProperty Cloud) and Finance & Operations
* Understanding data flows between Dynamics, Azure, and reporting platforms
* Experience with Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse Analytics)
* Ability to facilitate workshops and translate complex needs into clear plans
* Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business perspectives
Desirable:
* Experience in housing or the public sector
* Knowledge of ActiveH or similar housing systems
* Understanding of data governance and reporting implications
* Exposure to AWS in hybrid cloud environments
* Agile delivery experience in cross-functional data teams
Details:
* Location: Hybrid - 1-2 visits/month to West Midlands office
* Rate: Up to £600/day (Outside IR35)
* Duration: Initial 6-month contract
* Start: ASAP or flexible within a few weeks
