Overview
A leading social support charity is looking for a Support Worker to join a specialist supported living service in Hertfordshire. The charity provides housing, wellbeing and integrated services across London and the South East of England for people who need additional, often complex social support to live independently. Focus areas include learning disabilities, mental health, homelessness, and care leavers. The role is within a learning disabilities care setting and uses Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support to help service users live as independently and as actively as possible in a tailored, person-centred environment. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time options available.
Responsibilities
Through excellent personal, practical and wellbeing support, enable service users to engage in a broad range of opportunities and activities, build skills and social connections, and choose their own path forward to achieve greater independence, social inclusion and quality of life.
Person specification / Qualifications
* Essential Previous experience as a Support Worker or other relevant care role within a similar environment (learning disabilities / complex care / SEN)
* Essential Compassionate, caring attitude and a willingness to learn
* Desirable A relevant qualification such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care
* Desirable Valid UK driving licence and personal vehicle
