Responsibilities
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for leading the strategic and operational relationship with the client’s Global Artwork Team across one of the European divisions. This role combines commercial, operational, and people management responsibilities to ensure SGx consistently delivers best-in-class services. Acting as the primary client contact, the Senior Account Manager drives service excellence, governance, and continuous improvement while fostering strong partnerships at all levels. The role also oversees financial performance, resource planning, and the leadership of onsite teams, while contributing to key strategic projects that shape the future of artwork production and automation.
* Build and sustain strong relationships with the Global Artwork Team and its leadership, positioning SGx as the artwork partner of choice.
* Act as the primary contact for all commercial and operational topics relating to the division.
* Serve as liaison between the Global Artwork Team, supply chain planning, and marketing stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to agreed service levels.
* Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the account, including new projects and services, ensuring our business maximises its partnership potential.
* Prepare, present, and participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) in collaboration with other Senior Account Managers across the European region.
* Prepare and manage quality review meetings with client stakeholders.
* Host workshops at the annual Artwork Summit, focusing on continuous improvement and evolving ways of working.
* Work with fellow Senior Account Managers to share best practices across regions.
Operational & Performance Management
* Lead day-to-day operations for the division across all European markets.
* Track and manage On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance, driving corrective actions where required.
* Prepare and present quarterly KPI reports to client stakeholders, including action plans to address any non-compliance.
* Ensure governance of the client’s Design-to-Print (D2P) strategy for the division, including onboarding and training of new client stakeholders on correct processes and tools.
* Manage client forecasting and resource planning with studios to ensure the right capacity is in place; partner with the client to improve forecast accuracy.
* Manage the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and oversee continuous improvement initiatives across the division.
Financial & Commercial Management
* Oversee the division’s commercial revenue budget and monitor performance against targets.
* Manage the resolution and payment of any client bad debt.
People Management
* Provide line management for onsite team members within the division, ensuring performance, development, and engagement are actively supported.
Strategic Projects & Transformation
* Lead short-term integration projects following the merger of two production processes, aligning systems, tools, and teams into a harmonised structure that leverages best practices from both models.
* Contribute to the systems integration project between the client’s PLM system and SGx platform.
* Participate in the development of artwork automation initiatives, including XML artwork automation and the client’s pack copy management tool, ensuring outputs are fit for automation readiness.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Significant experience in brand packaging development, with proven expertise managing end-to-end ("cradle to grave") projects within the FMCG, retail, print, or packaging sectors.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior stakeholders and influence decision-making.
* Exceptional client-facing skills: professional, approachable, diplomatic, and able to build trusted relationships at all levels.
* High level of resilience, adaptability, and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
* Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented team player who demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of outcomes.
* Flexible, hardworking, and able to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
* Sound commercial awareness and understanding of client needs within a global framework.
* PC literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
* Experience using web-based briefing and approval systems.
* Knowledge of print and repro processes, as well as brand, retail, and packaging design.
* Awareness of digital marketing and its integration with brand and packaging strategy.
* Smart appearance with a professional, credible attitude in client-facing situations.
* Role can be based in the UK, Amsterdam, or Paris; occasional travel will be required.
