Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and experienced Band 5 Registered Nurse to provide dedicated clinical support to a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in a busy private practice located in Belgravia, London.
The post holder will deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of facial aesthetic, reconstructive, and minor surgical procedures. This role requires clinical precision, excellent communication, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
This is a part-time position (10 hours per week), ideally suited to a nurse seeking flexibility and a highly professional working environment within a busy private surgical practice.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
* Provide direct nursing support to the Consultant Plastic Surgeon during clinics and minor operations.
* Proficiently and independently remove sutures in patients following facial aesthetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, and mole removal.
* Assist in theatre, ensuring a sterile environment and adherence to infection control protocols and cleaning post-procedure.
* Provide accurate and timely completion of patient documentation, including pre- and post-operative notes, care plans, and consent forms.
* Prepare and maintain clinical rooms, surgical instruments, and consumables in line with CQC and infection prevention standards.
* Monitor patients' clinical condition and respond promptly to any concerns.
* Provide patient education, wound care advice, and post-operative follow-up.
Patient Experience & Communication
* Provide outstanding patient communication, ensuring all patients feel welcomed to the clinic, informed, supported, and reassured throughout their surgical journey.
* Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and discretion in a private healthcare environment.
* Contribute to a positive, caring, and calm patient experience at all times.
Professional Responsibilities
* Work within the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Conduct and clinic protocols.
* Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in accordance with GDPR and CQC standards.
* Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, and quality improvement processes as required.
* Undertake continuing professional development and annual revalidation.

Registered Nurse (Adult) – NMC PIN
Post-registration qualification in plastic/aesthetic or perioperative nursing
Experience
Minimum 1 year post-registration; experience in surgical, theatre, or outpatient settings
Experience in private practice or plastic/reconstructive surgery
Essential Skills
1. Proficient suture removal in facial aesthetic, reconstructive, and mole removal patients.
2. Assisting in theatre.
3. Assisting with completion of patient documentation.
4. Outstanding patient communication.
Awareness of clinical governance and quality assurance processes
