The role
Birchwood Community High School are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and well organised Senior Science Technician to join our Science Faculty. The main duties of this role will include; the preparation of materials for lessons including assembling apparatus, assisting and supporting students and teachers and promoting the observance of a safe and healthy working environment.
Essential qualities/experience:
1. Relevant experience as a Science Technician
2. Willingness and ability to work effectively within a team using own initiative
3. Experience of working with young people
4. Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with all members of the school community
5. Be confident and have a good working knowledge of ICT
6. Drive and motivation to develop the department and take it forward in order to cater fully for the needs of the faculty as they arise
7. A desire to contribute to the wider aspects of the faculty and to wider school life e.g. duties and extra-curricular activities
