Purpose of the role
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the IT infrastructure team is to provide structure, control, and monitoring of the functions
responsible for diverse technical operations which generally involve hardware, software, and networking in
both physical and virtual environments.
The main goal is to minimise downtime, maintain business productivity and optimise business processes
with technology.
The IT infrastructure team is responsible for managing the physical and virtual hardware that supports the
systems, networks, and storage necessary for IT service delivery. This includes maintaining IaaS solutions,
servers, system security, network & WAN management, integration platforms, installing and patching
hardware, monitoring assets, and configuring, deploying, or provisioning servers.
In addition to the general infrastructure the team is responsible for the applications, processes, and
platforms that support IT and business functions. This includes configuring, installing, and maintaining
software, as well as database management, preventing downtime, disaster recovery, and deploying and
integrating new technologies.
To be the support escalation point for technically complexed ticket and coordinate high level support with
the helpdesk.
Key responsibilities
The Key responsibilities can be summarised as:
· To receive incoming demand from IT helpdesk for complex issues, resolve via a combination of core
own skills and liaison with infrastructure team
· To monitor and maintain the overall IT infrastructure
· To provide 3rd line support to IT BAU team
· To escalate more complex issues to senior infrastructure team

standards; competently demonstrating an ability to communicate both in writing and orally at all levels,
using a range of tools and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness when
dealing with colleagues, customers and clients during all tasks.
