Overview
East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) is looking to appoint a full-time Consultant in Neuro-rehabilitation. The role provides out-patient and ward referral services, as well as in-patient support to the neuro-rehabilitation ward. The Trust has three acute sites and emphasizes partnering with community services.
Job responsibilities
* Provide ongoing care for patients in their charge and undertake related administrative duties.
* Co-operate with the Clinical Director and Care Group Management on organisational and budget issues.
* Fulfill inpatient and outpatient duties with additional flexible commitments (administration, management, committee work, relative interviews, etc.).
* Develop specialist interests and contribute to service development, research and teaching.
* Engage in audits, CPD activities, appraisal and revalidation per the agreed job plan, with mentoring available through the Kent Clinician Development Programme.
* Receive appropriate secretarial support, office space and IT equipment.
About us
The successful applicant will join a team of 10 Consultant Neurologists, 2 Consultant Neurophysiologists and a Rehabilitation Consultant. There are close links with the King’s College Hospital Regional Neuroscience Centre at Denmark Hill in London.
Qualifications and skills
* Essential:
o Full GMC Registration
o CCST Specialist Registration in Rehabilitation Medicine or to obtain within 6 months of interview date
o Experience in inpatient and outpatient neurological clinical care
o Ability to communicate clearly in spoken English
o Willingness and ability to travel between sites
* Desirable:
o Higher Degree (MD/PhD or equivalent)
o Experience in delivering a Spasticity service
Clinical governance and professional development
* Participation in audits, Morbidity & Mortality reviews and other governance activities
* Learning from incidents/complaints
* Active participation in appraisal and revalidation
* Access to mentoring via the Kent Clinician Development Programme

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks apply. UK registration is required. This role is permanent and full-time with flexible working options. Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 per year (pro rata where applicable).
