JOB DESCRIPTION FORM Job title Maintenance Engineer Department Injection Moulding Reports to Senior Specialist Position summary; The Post Holder is required to follow and update a maintenance plan for the maintenance and improvement of IM Machinery. They should also Supervise, Control and Develop all Shift Technicians and Apprentices within the Department. They are required to ensure that all Departmental systems and procedures are followed correctly and applied efficiently in all areas of the process. Main job functions • Ensure machines are production ready and maintained in line with service schedules. • Apply improvements to machinery and drive efficiency within the moulding department. • Promote learning and development of technicians/ apprentices. • Support production activities as and when required. • Participate in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities. Note: In addition to these functions, Employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required. Job location: Telford, Shropshire Supervisory responsibilities/Position in structure: Responsible for IM maintenance apprentice(s) Main duties Duties/responsibilities • Continuous process improvements to all aspects of the Moulding process. • Maintain a consistent level of high quality components in accordance with the departmental daily control systems and procedures. • Maintaining 5S standards. • Maintenance of all Moulding machines as per the planned maintenance schedules • Daily Machine safety checks Delivery/cost • Achieve daily shift production output targets. • Prepare accurate daily shift reports. • Maintain and improve Departmental Productivity and Efficiency targets. • Escalation of offline issues and working towards the achievement of KPI’s. • Provide Engineering and Production knowledge to the Moulding process, including Manufacturing and Quality related problems and issues. • Participate, support and manage daily Productive and non-Productive tasks and objectives. ( New Model introduction, Tool trials and Engineering projects). Manpower/Morale • shift supervision and management including all production and personnel related issues. • Carry out effective training of all shift staff in their relevant areas and to maintain / update individual training records. Safety • To ensure that all activities are conducted with the utmost respect to health and safety of oneself and other Employees. • Ensure all areas in their work area are completed, tidy and within 5’s standard. Environmental • Control and maintain Departmental Cleanroom standard and Environment. Skills required • Multi disciplined engineering background • Computer literate – A basic understanding of office/outlook/Excel. Qualifications Essential: • Engineering apprenticeship • HNC or equivalent Experience required Essential • Injection moulding machine maintenance Desirable: • Blow moulding machine maintenance
