Overview
Role: Financial Accountant in London for an international investment management business. This is a broad and highly visible role, overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll act as a subject matter expert in financial, regulatory, and tax reporting across the EMEA region, with strong technical knowledge of both US GAAP and local GAAP. This is an ideal first move into industry for someone who is qualified in audit, and keen to take on a broad role with a global organisation.
Responsibilities
* Lead month-end close for relevant entities, reviewing journals, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP.
* Oversight of shared service centre activities for accounts payable/receivable and general ledger processes.
* Prepare and review P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, providing commentary for senior management.
* Coordinate with internal teams (Finance Operations, FP&A, Legal, Tax, Treasury) and act as a key partner to country CFOs.
* Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely statutory and VAT filings.
* Oversee intercompany reconciliations and settlements, resolving variances.
* Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant with 0-3 years’ post-qualification experience.
* Strong technical accounting background with expertise in US GAAP and local GAAP.
* Experience in audit or accounting practice.
* Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
* Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders.
* Positive, solutions-focused mindset.
