Blue Diamond Recruitment is seeking a proven and ambitious Planning professional for a new Senior Planner / Planning Manager opportunity to join an excellent culture and team, supporting major housing led projects across the West Midlands. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of residential planning applications, from initial preparation through to determination. Key responsibilities include: Managing the preparation and submission of residential planning applications. Overseeing the planning application process end-to-end, ensuring timely and compliant delivery. Coordinating and reviewing multi discipline reports to ensure cohesion and accuracy. Managing external consultants and liaising with local planning authorities to facilitate project progress. Delivering efficient planning and delivery packs for the sale of development sites. Conducting local plan and planning policy analysis for residential development. Supporting and managing planning appeals and committee processes. Requirements Required Qualifications: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Real Estate, or a related field 2–5 years of professional planning experience, with a focus on major housing led sites and land promotion projects Experience with local plan and planning policy analysis for residential development Proven track record of managing or supporting planning appeals Experience liaising with local planning authorities on residential schemes Preferred Qualifications: Experience delivering residential planning applications end-to-end Experience preparing and submitting residential planning applications Experience working in a planning consultancy environment, house builder or local authority Experience producing planning committee reports and supporting committee processes Project management experience coordinating multi-discipline inputs for planning submissions Experience managing external consultants on planning projects RTPI-accredited degree Chartered Town Planner (RTPI) or actively working toward RTPI chartership Benefits Offering a competitive salary of £45,000–£55,000 plus package, bonus, career development opportunities, hybrid working and more.
