Bringing it to the role.
The Risk & Recovery Lead role is to ensure that our Risk & Compliance strategy is best-in-class ensuring we always do the right thing when it comes to managing risk and safety. You will continue to build on the KFC UK&I brand reputation by developing strategic relationships and influencing key stakeholders at all levels.
Critically, you will be able to turn technical risk and safety knowledge and ability into practical thinking that will continue to help our restaurant teams’ and guests’ safety.
This role is part of the Risk and Compliance Team, reporting into the Operations Risk and Compliance Leader. The team sits within the wider Restaurant Excellence department, where our priority is running great restaurants. The right person will lead and influence across a variety of projects and workstreams aimed at ensuring risk and compliance is at the forefront of everyone’s thinking.
This role will be a field-based role working across the UK&I.
What you’ll do
Take a strategic look at the safety culture and performance in the business to drive continuous improvement in the risk & compliance space by analysing data across a broad spectrum of measures, including audits, accidents and enforcement visits.
This role would be the Risk & Recovery Lead for the Equity Estate, where you would work closely with the Regional Teams to support on Risk Assessments, safety performance coaching, accident/incident investigation, enforcement challenges, compliance with legislative requirements, etc.
* partnering closely with our franchisees to support on restaurant safety matters, through collaborative working and clear policies, processes and communications.
* with the Operations Compliance Manager and Food Safety Manager to understand risk areas and lead the recovery programme to address performance opportunities
* collaboratively with other functions across the business including Central Operations, Field Operations Sustainability, and Construction and Development, to effectively manage risk.
* our relationship with our Primary Authority partners for Environmental health and fire safety to develop, review and assure policies and processes.
* abreast of any changes or updates to legislation or industry guidance to ensure we are proactive in compliance with our legislative requirements.
* the way in ensuring all our restaurants meet the highest standards set by legislation and statutory guidance and enforced by statutory bodies.
* Operational teams to respond to regulatory contact in a timely and professional manner.
* the Regional Safety Managers for the Equity business.

* Related Degree (or equivalent qualifications) in a safety and/or risk-based subject such as Environmental Health or Risk Management is essential.
* in a safety, risk or compliance role in either the private or public sector.
* in the food service or retail sector would be a huge benefit.
* experience of leading people would be advantageous.
* in managing complex investigations into safety-related incidents and accidents.
* track record of managing both internal and external stakeholders.
* level of operational and people & culture knowledge.
* of working in a fast-paced environment.
