About Us:
CDR M&E Services Ltd is a growing building services company specialising in mechanical, electrical, and maintenance solutions across the North East and Midlands. With a team of skilled engineers and support staff, we are expanding rapidly and require a professional accounts administrator to support our financial operations.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive accounts administrator to manage day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and assist with month-end reporting. You will work closely with the Director and our external accountants to ensure smooth financial operations as the company continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software
* Process invoices, receipts, and payments
* Manage accounts payable and receivable
* Bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
* Assist with payroll preparation and submission
* Monitor cashflow and provide regular reports to management
* Support with VAT returns, PAYE, and HMRC submissions
* Liaise with suppliers, customers, and external accountants
* Provide ad-hoc financial reporting when required
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a accounts administrator or equivalent role (ideally in construction/building services, but not essential)
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles
* Experience using Xero (or similar cloud-based software)
* Good Excel/Google Sheets skills
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
* AAT qualification (preferred but not essential)
