About Us:
Career Teachers are looking for a dedicated Food Technology Teacher for an Alternative Provision within Barnet.
The ideal individual for this role will have a strong background in food technology and be committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for students aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical food technology lessons that inspire and motivate the students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality food technology lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH.
2. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
4. Develop and implement individualised learning plans in collaboration with other staff members.
5. Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall well-being and development of each student.
6. Ensure a safe and hygienic classroom environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
2. Experience teaching food technology, preferably within an SEN setting.
3. Strong understanding of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with best practices in SEN education.
