Job Description
Our Kettering based client has a vacancy for a Full time Technician to work in our Furniture Flammability department. The Furniture Flammability department is an international centre of excellence for furniture testing, training, consultancy and innovation. The company's expertise makes them the premier technical partner for suppliers, manufacturers and retailers of furniture and its components.
They test against national, European and international standards, as well as key retailer specifications, to give customers the confidence that their furniture is fit for purpose and safe to use.
Responsibilities
As a Furniture Flammability Technician you will be required to carry out the following:
* Preparation and conditioning of samples
* Testing samples to British, European and International Standards
* Maintaining cleanliness of lab areas
* Planning and agreeing testing schedules
About You
Successful candidates will be required to have the following:
* GCSE Maths, English & Science minimum Grade C (Grade 5 or above)
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Good computer skills – Word & Excel
* Able to work to deadlines
* Be able to follow instructions accurately & have a good attention to detail
* Demonstrable experience of organisation and planning skills
* Good time management and scheduling skills
* Ability to work alone or as part of a team
* Flexibility, tenacity and a 'can-do' attitude
It would be great if you also had:-
* Experience working within the furniture industry
* Experience working within a regulated laboratory environment
* Experience in testing different types of consumer products
* Full, clean driving licence
