Our site is based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, with very close & accessible links to fantastic North East cities; Newcastle upon Tyne & Durham Fast forward to 2024, AEM has worked with industry partners, vehicle manufacturers (globally) and academics to develop the most sustainable & highest performing powertrain solutions for electric vehicles across various industries. What you'll do: As a Development Engineer, you will play a key role in testing and validating our electric motors and powertrains at various stages of design and development You will use your expertise in areas such as electromagnetic analysis, thermal analysis, system commissioning, system integration, and failure analysis to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards and customer expectations Working closely with the Design & Manufacturing Engineering teams, you will provide feedback and suggestions for design improvements and compliance Due to company growth, we are looking for candidates at both Engineer & Senior Engineer level We'd love you to have: A degree in electrical engineering or a related field Some relevant experience working in electrical design & test for electric motor systems (preferably in the automotive industry, but this is not essential) Great interpersonal skills to collaborate with other engineering teams at all levels, and natural self-start / pro-active approach to a working environment In return you'll get: An opportunity to work for a company producing cutting edge electric motor and powertrain technologies for customers worldwide.
