We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, caring, highly motivated Band 5 or Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly & welcoming team at the OUH Radiotherapy Centre @Swindon, a satellite of the Oxford Cancer Centre.
Our purpose‑built satellite unit in Swindon houses 2 Varian TrueBeam linacs with 6DoF couches and a GoSim Radiotherapy CT scanner. It is an extension of the radiotherapy service at the Oxford Cancer Centre, networked by Aria, and has its own clinic rooms, planning suite and MacMillan patient information area on the Great Western Hospital site near J15 of the M4.
Patients are at the heart of what we do. We deliver a range of techniques including IMRT, VMAT, DIBH, IGRT and SABR. All grades are expected and encouraged to participate in these treatment and verification techniques.
We are proud of our strong culture of learning, education and support and offer a comprehensive induction programme. Our Practice Educator team can assist with professional development opportunities and we strongly encourage all Radiographers to get involved in project, audit and research work. There is access to CPD funding for academic modules and conferences.
Work as a member of the team of Radiographers covering all sections of the department, including mould room, CT scanning, virtual simulation and contouring, and the delivery of both simple and complex treatments and IGRT techniques.
Responsibilities:
* Support the team leader in the day‑to‑day management of their assigned pre‑treatment or treatment work area, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload.
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
* Assist with the day‑to‑day organisation of the treatment unit to ensure an efficient service is delivered and workload targets are achieved.
* Supervise, support and teach junior members of staff and students.
Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence, focusing on compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence.
