Our client, a global leader in packaged good solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Machine / Slitter Operator, to join our winning team in York.
Our candidate of choice will produce a quality product in accordance with company and customer specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals
* Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter.
* Interpret and understand written information, (orders, SOP’s, Lam. and print roll tickets etc.)
* Palletization, (building pallets of finished goods per customer specifications)
* Bagging of finished rolls
* Quality checks slit material
o Lay flat/measurement of slit web
o Print quality/print defects
o Roll/web tension and integrity
* Enter accurate information into computer and on production forms.
* Print out and attach accurate labels to finished rolls
* Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean
* Spot and determine visual defects.
* Cut out defects and splice together good material
* Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
o SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
+ Employee Health and Safety
+ SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
+ SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Ability to read a tape measure/ruler
* Ability to use a computer, (basic computer skills, data entry)
* Basic math skills
* Good organizational skills
* Communicate well with others
* Basic reading skills
* Basic writing skills, (must be legible)
* Use of minor tools, (i.e., allen wrenches)
* Use of sharp cutting tools
* Process written information, (orders, SOP’S, etc.)
