Key Purpose of the Role
The Head of Production Engineering (Industrialisation) & Quality Control is a key leadership role responsible for driving process improvements, technical innovation, and quality assurance across Bremont’s Manufacturing and Customer Service operations. Working in close collaboration with the Product Engineering team, this role ensures the seamless industrialisation of new products and the ongoing optimisation of existing processes.
You will lead and develop a cross-functional team including Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, and Technical (Watchmaking) Training, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and LEAN manufacturing throughout the organisation.
This role plays a vital part in supporting Bremont’s growth strategy - enhancing production capabilities, improving profitability, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a clear, actionable road map to support Manufacturing (Assembly), Customer Service Operations, and Quality, aligned with the vision and goals set by the COO.
* Lead, mentor, and manage direct teams, fostering engagement, accountability, and high performance.
* Ensure effective budget management within the department, aligning resources with strategic priorities.
* Review and analyse team activities, providing regular feedback and strategic insights to the COO.
* Build a strong, future-focused department through robust planning, process development, and project delivery.
* Take ownership of all quality and manufacturing engineering activities across Bremont, ensuring excellence in execution.
* Maintain and continuously develop personal technical knowledge to stay current with industry standards and innovations.
* Regularly evaluate all processes and techniques to ensure they are fit for purpose, efficient, and scalable.
* Collaborate with internal partners across the business to ensure teams are fully equipped and supported to operate effectively.
* Embed a strong problem-solving culture across operations, ensuring root-cause thinking and continuous improvement.
* Prepare and deliver timely reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), sharing insights and updates with the COO.
Person Specification
* Substantial background and understanding of manufacturing operations, preferably within small appliances or micromechanical devices.
* Strong appreciation for quality standards and solid technical/mechanical knowledge.
* Holds a LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt, with a proven track record of successfully delivering and embedding process improvement projects.
* Demonstrated ability to contribute to and implement strategies at a senior/strategic level.
* Solid understanding of departmental leadership, with prior experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
* A visionary and collaborative leader who can inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance and align with the company’s vision and objectives.
* Strategic and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business.
* High attention to detail, with strong organisational and planning skills.
* Knowledge of ERP systems and their role in supporting efficient manufacturing and operational workflows.
* Strong numerical and data analysis skills, with the ability to draw insights and prepare clear, actionable reports.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and a minimum of intermediate-level Excel.
