Overview
York Learning, the successful Adult Community Education arm of City of York Council, is seeking to recruit an appropriately qualified, professional, motivated and experienced individual to actively manage the day-to-day co‑ordination of our adult education programme with focus on our Wider Community Learning offer. It will be mainly based at our Huntington office. Our Wider Community Learning offer includes, but is not limited to, courses on health and leisure, modern foreign languages, and the creative curriculum. An interest in one or more of these areas would be welcomed.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the day‑to‑day delivery of the adult education programme.
* Support the Curriculum Manager to plan and run the Wider Community Learning programme and the tutor body.
* Input into the development of the programme, make decisions on a day‑to‑day basis about courses, and respond to events as they happen.
* Manage a part‑time team of Operations Administrators, providing high quality multi‑disciplined administrative functions, including reception, administration, finance and practical support to the curriculum manager and tutors.
* Prioritise tasks, delegate and lead by example.
* Support general administrative tasks on a regular basis, particularly to cover for colleagues when required.
Qualifications
* Level 2 qualifications in English, maths and IT (minimum requirement).
* Previous forward‑facing customer service experience and/or team leading experience.
* Positive and flexible outlook.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.

Working Arrangements
This post is suitable as a job sharing position. Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role and will be determined based on the requirements of the role in collaboration with you. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
Public Facing Requirements
Applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.
