Role Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects to join Nidec Drives. You will be responsible for the efficient delivery of procurement projects and New Product Introduction (NPD) programs, managing key projects from inception to delivery, and collaborating across the business to meet procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting.
You and your team will lead projects from initiation through to completion, demonstrating performance in both commercial and project timelines during bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director. You will play a key role in aligning and shaping our procurement strategies, supporting the overall direction and strategic vision within the senior leadership team.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Aligning strategies with Global Procurement Category Managers.
* Ensuring cross-functional requirements are integrated into project reporting.
* Collaborating globally with regions and functions to optimize performance.
* Leading project management meetings and reviews.
Tactical Execution:
* Developing and managing procurement plans for NPD and projects, reporting progress and deliverables.
* Leading reviews internally and with the broader business.
* Supporting NPD plans to meet tight timelines.
* Working with regional teams to implement NPD plans aligned with targets.
* Maintaining KPIs to monitor project execution.
Team Structure and People Management:
* Providing leadership and direction to the procurement NPD team.
* Advocating for our procurement approach and serving as a key knowledge resource.
* Monitoring and reviewing team performance.
* Communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.
* Conducting regular reviews with procurement, other functions, and regions.
Relationship Management:
* Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders to ensure performance.
* Collaborating with procurement, R&D, operations, and finance teams.
* Facilitating delivery and performance through stakeholder collaboration.
Travel Requirements:
* Travel to various Nidec locations and suppliers, potentially internationally and long-haul.
Qualifications & Experience:
* CIPS, Business Degree, or Project Management qualification.
* Proven experience in projects or procurement, preferably in manufacturing.
* Knowledge of electronics and mechanical raw parts (preferred).
* Experience in complex, cost-effective project environments.
* Structured, proactive, and logical mindset.
