Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled candidate to support a complex engineering project involving legacy infrastructure. This role is technical in nature and will require a candidate with a specific background and experience in high-integrity or regulated industries.
Candidate Requirements
Background:
* Degree in an engineering discipline (or relevant science-based subject with sufficient experience)
* Chartered professional status in their discipline
* Significant experience in the nuclear sector or similarly regulated environment is preferred
Experience
Candidates must have experience in at least four of the following areas:
* Technical assessment and review
* Delivery of studies or feasibility work
* Strategic planning or development
* Involvement in technology development or R&D activities
* Conducting or supporting plant trials
* Early-stage design delivery (feasibility, optioneering, or concept phases)
* Programme or project management experience
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the technical team responsible for addressing a complex engineering issue in legacy systems. The role will involve:
* Leading technical work packages with a high degree of autonomy
* Personally delivering technical content (minimal resourcing support available)
* Developing scopes of work and technical specifications
* Managing and coordinating internal or external delivery of specific packages
* Producing and presenting reports (including Non-Financial Reports)
* Reviewing and checking work produced by colleagues
* Supporting forward planning to transition technical scope into project or design delivery
* Engaging with regulatory stakeholders for relevant workstreams
This role is suited to a self-starting, hands-on technical professional capable of managing specialist packages with minimal support. A background in complex infrastructure or safety-critical environments is highly desirable.
