At the King Edmund School, we are entering a bold new chapter with a brand-new building and an aspirational student body. We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Sociology & Psychology to join our inspiring and collaborative Humanities faculty.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Teacher of Sociology and Psychology to join our successful Humanities and Social Sciences faculty. The post holder would teach both Psychology and Sociology. Both subjects are popular, and many students progress to pursue social science degrees in higher education. The ideal candidate will empower students to understand the complexities of human behaviour and social structures, cultivate curiosity, empathy, and analytical thinking, and deliver engaging and thought-provoking teaching.
What we’re looking for
* A degree, or equivalent experience, with a teaching qualification
* Proven ability to teach outstanding lessons across the 11-18 age range, with strong classroom management
* Ability to work collaboratively with other staff to develop the department
* Exceptional personal organisation and time management skills
* A firm understanding of key national and educational policies
* The ability to inspire high achievement in students from all backgrounds
* A clear commitment to improving performance through effective continuous professional development
