Working within our WAM division, this is a key role supporting the manufacture of high precision turbine blades, vanes and structures across a field of safety critical industries to exacting world class standards.
This covers a variety of processes including Grinding, EDM, Laser Drilling and Ablation and a requirement to inspect all parts in line with customer specifications.
The role will have responsibility for the efficient delivery of products whilst upholding all regulatory requirements. Prior experience working within Aerospace production, volume manufacture and new product introduction will help in this role. Must achieve results working in a safe and quality conscious environment, whilst leading the safety goal.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Operation of multi-axis CNC machine tools to produce various types of Gas Turbine components
* Responsible for inspection of completed operations using equipment such as automated CMMs & optical vision systems and manual gauges and tooling
* Meet or exceed production targets, and complete visual trackers to display progress
* Complete manual and PC based production records and identify any non-conformance and record via the company software
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
* Complete daily preventative maintenance checks and raise any issues or areas of concern
* Ensure machines are maintained in an optimum condition by changing consumables as required, i.e. electrodes, wheels & tooling
* Carry out other duties as required compatible with this role and the employee's individual skills at the direction of the supervisor/manager
* Understand and use statistical process control (SPC) data to ensure processes operate with a high level of capability
* Use structured problem resolution tools and techniques to deliver improvements
* Help develop processes for new product introduction (NPI)
Requirements
* Good general level of education
* CNC Machine Tool experience is essential
* Practical experience and understanding of Aero and / or Industrial Gas Turbine Component manufacture is also preferable
* Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as micrometers and callipers
* Strong PC skills / literacy
* Attention to detail and ability to operate competently in an aerospace manufacturing environment (Winbro is AS9100D accredited and upholds high quality standards)
* Good level of manual dexterity

Shifts
* Night Shift: Thursday to Sunday, 6:00 pm - 6:00 am
* An initial training period will take place where a daytime Monday-Friday shift pattern will be required
