We are recruiting for a Compliance Team Leader to join our Can I Act (CIA) team in either our Manchester or Bristol office.


Your Role


This role will specifically be supervising analysts working on CDD/KYC ongoing monitoring, and matter risk assessment. As a Compliance Team Leader your day to day remit includes:

* Supervision of compliance analysts undertaking CDD/KYC ongoing monitoring and matter risk assessment operations, ensuring adherence to AML regulations and internal processes.
* Supervise up to 4 compliance analysts of different skill levels, as well as giving ad hoc support to the wider team if needed.
* Be the point of contact for answering queries within the CIA Team as well as Fee Earners and other stakeholders.
* Provide clear, accurate advice regarding CDD/KYC requirements, completion of matter risk assessments and internal processes regarding these areas.
* Be able to interpret AML regulations and internal policies to make risk based decisions when providing client and matter risk advice to your direct reports and others within the firm.
* Ensure work is organised and prioritised to meet with strict SLA's.
* Generate regular progress reports as well as custom reports for specific teams or stakeholders in the firm.
* Undertake quality checking and auditing of analysts under your supervision, ensuring that exceptional standards are met and records are well maintained.
* Actively mentoring and supporting your direct reports to help them grow in their role.
* Work alongside other Team Leaders to contribute to the overall running of the team, sharing ideas, skills and tasks.


Your Skills and Experience

* Must have previous experience of working in compliance for a law firm in the areas of CDD/KYC, and ideally experience with matter risk assessments.
* Team leadership/management experience or experience of supporting junior team members.
* Good research and analytical skills, with motivation to find answers and solve problems.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Accurate data inputting and high attention to detail.
* Legal qualification desired but not essential.
